Our inspiration: Bridging the gap
IdaMae's Second Chance was born from a deep understanding of the gaps in support for those in need. We saw the struggles of poor and middle-class individuals seeking assistance and real mentorship. There is a pressing need for safe housing and career opportunities for women and men transitioning home from prison. Additionally, we are dedicated to supporting elderly men and women grappling with chemical dependency, offering mental and physical support. Our mission extends to families who often fall through the cracks, being "overqualified" for many existing resources. We believe everyone deserves a second chance and a supportive path forward.
Comprehensive support for a brighter future
Beyond providing housing, IdaMae's Second Chance offers comprehensive support to uplift women, children, and men in our community. We assist those who do not qualify for traditional rental or utility assistance, provide gas cards, and connect individuals with crucial employment resources. We address food insecurity, facilitate housing solutions, and offer credit repair services. Our team also provides resources for legal issues and helps individuals create personalized plans through one-on-one peer mentorship. Our aim is to break generational curses and offer rehabilitative programs for men re-entering society from prison, bridging the gap for families who are underserved.
